Mrs. Audna Baucom Blackmon 103, transitioned from her Earthly home to her Heavenly home on the 10th of March, 2018 at Autumn Care of Marshville. She was born in Union County on the 30th of January, 1915 to the late William Herron and Leola Treadaway Baucom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Marion Blackmon and one son Mr. Joseph Blackmon. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Mr. Marley W. Baucom, Mr. Joe E. Baucom, Mr. Beecher Baucom, Mrs. Ollie Trull, Mrs. Beulah Jackson, and Mrs. Bessie Johnson.
Ms. Audna was an extraordinary person, a perfect seamstress, quilt maker and gardener who loved her flowers. She loved her church and was the oldest living member of Hamilton Crossroads Baptist Church. Mrs. Audna's voice and knowledge of church hymns will be missed by those who heard her lift her voice toward Heaven.
Funeral Services will be 11am Wednesday at Hamilton Crossroads Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends in the church fellowship hall one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her sister Mrs. Doris Baucom of Gastonia and her grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
