Mrs. Barbara Jean Helms Gould, 86, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, at Hospice House in Monroe.  Born September 26, 1939, in Charlotte, NC, she was a daughter of the late Lester Cornelius Helms and Mary Alice Shaw.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Harvey in 2018.

Memorial services will be 4 PM, Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Fairfield Community Baptist Church.  The family will greet friends on Sunday in the church fellowship building from 2:45 – 3:45.

Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Jay Gould and Bill Gould (Kipsy); daughter, Caryn Helms (Robby); grandchildren, Megan Warrick (Jon), Brandon Gould, Taylor Helms Buie (James), Danny Helms, Lance Gould and Trista Gould; great grandson, Crew Buie.

The family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers from Avendelle Assisted Living, Meadowview Assisted Living and Olive Branch Family Care Home.
