Marshville – Mr. Ben John Stoddard, 89, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at Autumn Care in Marshville. Born March 19, 1930, in Dade County, Florida, he was a son of the late Miza Stoddard Brady.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday by the graveside of Austin Grove Baptist Church with visitation to follow in the church.
Mr. Stoddard is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Mrs. Laura Stoddard of the home; children, Terry (Albert) Ikerd of Marshville, Raymond Smith of Monroe, Carolyn Smith of Marshville, Tammy Smith of Jacksonville, Florida, and Toni (Billy) Riggins of Marshville; grandchildren, Amanda (Christopher) Lynn of Marshville, Laura Ann (Trent) Strickland of Marshville, Jessie (Justin) Jeffries of Wilmington, Dawn (Dustin) Marsh of Marshville, Ray (Heather) Smith of Marshville, Julia (David) Godwin of Marshville, Rick (Britney) Smith of Marshville, Thomas (Ame) Cowan of Welaka, Florida, Ryan (Priscilla) Cowan of Jacksonville, Florida, Grant Pawelski of Jacksonville, Florida, Carli Pawelski of Jacksonville, Florida, Steven Meador of Marshville, and Wesley (Diana) Meador of Athens, Georgia; along with nineteen (19) great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Austin Grove Baptist Church, 5919 Austin Grove Road, Marshville, NC 28103.
