Mrs. Betty Jean Rushing Courtney, 88, passed away, Thursday, October 31, 2024, at CMC in Charlotte.  Born February 5, 1936, in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Carmen Rushing and Gertha Haigler Rushing. She was also preceded by her husband Cecil Courtney and a daughter, Jane Coan.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Betty will be 1 PM, Monday, November 4, 2024, from Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Judy Baucom; son, William Courtney; grandchildren, Michael Baucom and Courtney Baucom; 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Dean Blevins (Allen), Brenda Parks and Joyce Griffin.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
