Monroe – Mrs. Betty Stegall Davis, 81 died Friday, July 7, 2017 at Autumn Care in Marshville.  Born August 27, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Stegall, Sr. and Lois McCullough Stegall.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Truby of 42 years and a brother, Raymond Stegall, Jr. She was a 1953 graduate of Peachland High School. She loved her dogs, Dagmar, Precious and Tete.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Betty will be held 11 AM Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church (1106 West Sandy Ridge Road, Monroe, NC 28112) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the graveside in the fellowship building.

Mrs. Davis is survived by a brother, Billy Mason Stegall and wife Kay of Charlotte; sister-in-law, Rebecca Stegall of Monroe; nephews, Johnny Davis and his wife Alta Hurst Davis of Polkton, NC, Mark Stegall (Joanne) of Charlotte and Johnny Stegall of Monroe; nieces, Sandra Stegall Rusch of Concord, Susan Stegall Hicks (Butch) of Charlotte, Crystal Stegall Taylor (Jerry) of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Teresa Stegall Thomas (Rich) of Monroe, NC and two special great nieces, Vicky Thomas and Jody Thomas of Monroe.

The family would like to acknowledge the trusting relationship between Truby and Betty with Johnny and Alta Hurst Davis.
