Mrs. Betty Jean Horne Gibson, 92, of Wingate, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026, at Hospice House in Monroe.  Born June 15, 1933, in Anson County, she was the daughter of the late George Horne and Hattie Rushing Horne. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Gibson, sons, Robert Gibson and Billy Ray Gibson.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Betty will be 11 AM, Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from the graveside of Peachland City Cemetery with the family receiving friends following by the graveside.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Judy Evans (Junior); many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
