Marshville – Mrs. Betty Jo Griffin Helms, 84, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at her home.  Born October 11, 1936 in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Carl Wilson Griffin and Emma Griffin.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Franklin Helms in 2019 and brother, Carl Wilson Griffin, Jr.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10-10:45 on Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Helms is survived by a son, David Helms (Anita) of Monroe, NC; daughter, Debbie Baker (Rick) of Marshville; grandchildren, Carlyn Baker Isaac (Ron), Leah Helms Mays (Jonathan), Leslie Ann Helms Krygier (Ronnie) and David Graham Helms (Bree); great-grandchildren Kaylin, Codie, Walter and Jarrett; a special sister in heart, Betty Manus.

Memorials can be made to the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church cemetery fund, 4720 Huggins Road, Marshville, NC  28103.
