Marshville - Mr. Blair Polk, 82, died Thursday at CMC Hospital in Monroe. Born September 22, 1931 in Union County he was a son of Judge and Addie Maness Polk. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Blair will be held Monday at 1 pm from the Hamilton Crossroads Baptist Church with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm at the funeral home. Blair is survived by his wife Pearl Helms of the home; son, Alan Helms of Hartsville, SC and his wife Andrea; daughters, Lynne Peeler and husband Danny of Gaffney, SC and Kim Hinson and husband Doug of Monroe; 6 grandchildren, Jonathon Peeler of Gaffney, SC, Joshua and Caroline Helms of Hartsville, SC, Alex, Aaron and Trevor Hinson of Monroe. The family suggests memorials be in the form of the donor planting a tree in his memory.
