Mr. Bobby "Bob" James Traywick, 82 of Oak Island, NC and formerly of Marshville passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019. Born June 15, 1937 in Union County, he was the son of the late Le Roy and Ethel Griffin Traywick. He was an Air Force veteran and retired after 45 years with Western Electric and Bell Systems.
Bob was a loving husband and father and always put his family first. He was known for his kind and compassionate spirit and the love of nature and animals. He also enjoyed living at the coast where he and his special furry companion, Jake, took long walks on the beach. No matter his circumstances, he always had a smile on his face.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Bob will be 2 PM Saturday from the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Marshville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Traywick is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Delura Ellis Traywick; daughters, Laura T. Moore of Moore, SC and Michalyn T. Walker and her husband Patrick of Burgaw, NC; sons, Robert Traywick and his wife Cheri of Marshville, Phillip Traywick and his partner Jolene Beaty of Matthews; 8 grandchildren, Tanner Moore, Shelby Moore, Mackenzie Traywick, Andrew Traywick, Alex Traywick, Abby Traywick, Sam Walker and Cora Walker; twin brother, Bill Traywick and his wife Ann of Marshville; sisters Gail and Janet.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Alzheimer's Association, via their website.
