Marshville – Mr. Marshall Boyce Godwin, 95 departed his earthly life Sunday May 31, 2015 at Monroe Manor in Monroe. Born October 8, 1919, he was a son of the late Marshall Davidson Godwin and Lela May Brewer Godwin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Julia Meggs Godwin, a son, Lynn Godwin, a great granddaughter, Amanda Helms, sister, Pearl Griffin and a brother, Albert Godwin.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship building.
Mr. Godwin is survived by a daughter, Frances Helms and her husband J. Hugh; son, Ricky Godwin and his wife Deborah; daughter-in-law, Brenda Godwin; step son, Steven Griffin and his wife Deborah; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren.
