Marshville – Mrs. Brenda Rowell Thomas, 76, passed away Monday March 23, 2026, at Hospice House in Monroe.  Born October 28, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Alfred David Rowell and Frances Thomas Rowell.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Thomas Duke in 2023 and a brother, Jerry Rowell.

Brenda loved hummingbirds, photography, reading, watching movies and tending her flowers.  She loved animals in general.  She had a passion for thrifting. She especially loved her dog, Scooter.  She enjoyed spending time with her family.  She never met a stranger. She worked at the Home News in Marshville for 20 years as an office manager and was affectionately known as Mrs. Brenda.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Brenda will be 3 PM, Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Marshville City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2-2:45 on Thursday at the funeral home.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 55 years, Ernie Morris Thomas; daughter, Wendy Brooks (Travis); grandchildren, Trenton Brooks, Madison Duke and Jordan Brooks; great grandchild, Emery Renee Duke; sister, Debbie Alexander (Larry) and Ann Munsey (Dean).
