Marshville – Mrs. Carol Deese Ritch 82, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Hospice House in Monroe.  Born November 17, 1941 in Anson County, she was the daughter of the late James Lee Deese and Ora Novella Quick Holland. She was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Jackson Ritch earlier this year, sons George Trakas, Jr. and Tony Ritch, son-in-law, Michael Woodard and brother, Ronnie Deese.

Carol was an amazing wife, good mother, wonderful grandmother and aunt. She was taught by her late husband how she could be loved deeply and how a man should love a woman.   She was a 15-year member of the East Campus church in Marshville which she loved dearly.  She was dedicated to serving her community through the coffee room at her church and Meals-On-Wheels.

Carol was an active member of the lady's auxiliary of the VFW, worked on the election committee for many years and met all but two US Presidents living during her lifetime.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Carol will be held at 1 PM Friday, December 8, 2023 at East Campus of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail, 6140 West Marshville Blvd, Marshville, NC.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church vestibule.

Those left to cherish her memory include children, Bernadette Woodard, John Trakas (Amy), Eddie Trakas and Randy Lankford (Kristin), Sonia Ritch; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; brother, Larry Deese, nieces and nephews.
