Marshville- Mr. H. Carroll Smith, 84, passed away March 15, 2014 at Autumn Care of Marshville. He was born on September 10, 1929 in Union County, N.C. to the late John Buxton and Annie Tice Smith. He was a retired farmer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one great-grandson Clay Sellers Funeral Services will be 11am Monday at Philadelphia Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6:30pm-8:30pm Sunday at Philadelphia Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. Carroll is survived by his wife Mrs. Frances J. Smith. One son; Mr. James Kendall Smith and his wife Jean of LaGrange, N.C. One daughter Mrs. Susan Smith Martin and her husband Eddie of Marshville. Five grandchildren: Courtney Smith, Lane Smith, Jennifer Vaughn, Shannon Logan, and Jason Martin. Seven grandchildren: Addison Vaughn, Colin Vaughn, Hannah Sellers, Mason Logan, Ava Logan, River Martin, and Callie Martin. Morgan & Son Funeral Home of Marshville is in charge of arrangements.
