Monroe – Mr. Cecil William Courtney, 84, passed away, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at CMC – Main in Charlotte.  Born April 14, 1936, in Lancaster County, SC, he was a son of the late Lewis and Almer Deese Courtney.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Coan.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Cecil will be 11 AM, Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 7918 Crooked Creek Church Road, Monroe, NC  28110.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Betty Rushing Courtney of the home; daughter, Judy Baucom; son, William Courtney; grandchildren, Michael Baucom and Courtney Baucom; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Joanne Tucker, Lillian Moser and Mildred Parker (William).
