Mr. Cecil Earl Russell, 87 of Marshville, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Hospice House in Monroe.  Born December 6, 1934 in Anson County, he was a son of the late Edgar Earl Russell and Dorothy Coble Russell.  Cecil was a poultry farmer for 46 years and a row crop farmer for 32 years. He is preceded in death by sister, Betty Mungo and husband Ray Mungo, brother, John Russell and wife Martha Ann and a brother, David Russell.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Cecil will be at 3 PM, Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Olive Branch Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM, Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Morgan and Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Russell is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Flossie Williams Russell; son, Gerald Russell and his wife Virginia of Marshville, NC, daughter, Darlene Smith and her husband Monty of Peachland, NC and son, Neal Russell and his wife Connie of Marshville, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren, brother, Kenneth Russell and wife Laraine, sister-in-law, Doris Russell and several nieces and nephews.
