Monroe – Clara Hill Mills, joined her Heavenly Home on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.  A long-time resident of Union County, she was preceded in death by her loving parents, Clayton Allen Hill and Viola Preslar Hill; husband, Joe Blair Mills; brother, Craven Hill and sisters, Opal Hill Carpenter Deese and Evelyn Hill O'Brien.

Mrs. Mills is survived by her daughter, Kim M. Mills, formally of Huntersville, NC.

Clara was an exceptional business woman ahead of her time. She owned and operated Mills Amoco Service in Marshville for over 30 years.  A talented gardener at heart, she enjoyed landscaping and flower arranging for her friends and family.  She loved spending time with her family and hosting big gatherings.  She adored her pet family, especially her constant feline companion, Marley Man.

Clara was a loving mother and loyal friend known for her big heart, quick wit, strong will, and wise advice. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her faithful caregiver, Sue Cook; hospice nurse, Melissa Moss and Chaplain Ron Honeycutt for their love and support during her last few years.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church of the donor's choice.

As per Mrs. Mills' request, services will be private.
