Cordelia Ponds Strawn, 94 years of age, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Thursday, August 30, 2018surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 15, 1924, the daughter of the late William Oscar and Martha Sanders Ponds.

She is survived by her son Phil Strawn and wife Kay of Marshville; his children, Darlinda Morris and Husband,Lindsay; Rodney Strawn and wife Jamie; Karen Webb and Husband Frank; and Heather Long and fiancé, Steve Fretz; daughter Rhonda Huggins and husband Steve, of Acworth, GA; their son, Ryan Lowry; son Bill Strawn and wife Lisa, of Marshville; their children, Nicole Stegall and husband Ted; Alisha Hill and husband Daniel; and April Lemaster and husband Jake; daughter Teresa Davis and fiancé Danny Price, of Concord; her children, Michael Davis and wife Sheena, andMatthew Davis; son John Strawn and wife Cheryl, of Cashiers; their children, Cord Strawn and wife Sarah; Elizabeth Brooksand husband Ryan; son Art Strawn and wife Kim, of Marshville; their children, Mandy Helms, Melissa Phifer, Donnie Farmerand wife Sommer, and Daniel Farmer.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 1/2 years, BrackStrawn; also preceded in death by son Steve Strawn; his surviving children, Adam Strawn and wife Susan, Lorie Euryand husband Rodney, Lisa Dales and husband Chuck, Brittany Strawn, Kassidy Holland and husband Austin. She was preceded in death by son Dr. Jeff Strawn.

Other survivors include her great grandchildren: Christa, Mollie, Anna, Kyle, Kasey, Karlie, Kourtnie, Rebekah, Kathryn, Luke, Risden, Braxton, Garrett, Dalton, Macie, Lydia, Bethany, Robbie, Kelly, Benjamin, Little Michael, Logan, Mattie, McKayla, Kolbi, Camden, Kellie, Kaycie, Noah, Levi,  Jastin, Annystin, Ashur, Graiden, Liam, Braxleigh, Bradley, Lillian, Hunley, Huxton and great-great grandchildren: Cora, Caroline, Corrine, C.J., Coulson, Carlyn.

Mrs. Strawn was a retired seamstress and a Christian woman dedicated to raising her children and serving her family. She loved cooking for her family as she was an excellent cook, often using her hands as a measuring cup. Her sugar cookies were a favorite. She loved her family and delighted in spending time with them. Her family will cherish their fond memories forever.

Funeral service will be held at Deep Springs Baptist Church,Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 3pm. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm, Saturday at Morgan and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be at Phifer Family Cemetery, Old Goldmine Road, Marshville.
