Mr. Coy Brownlow Helms, 92 of Marshville, passed away Thursday morning at Meadowview Terrace of Wadesboro.  Born March 23, 1932, he was the son of the late Baxter Helms and Ella Traywick Helms. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Faye Kiker, Beatrice Thomas Deese, Clara Farris, Winfred Helms, Emmett Helms and Carol Helms.

Coy was a Korean War Navy Veteran serving on the USS Wasp aircraft carrier.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Coy will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Fairfield Community Baptist Church with visitation to follow in the church fellowship building.

Those left to cherish Coy's memory include his wife of 70 years, Grovene Hill Helms; children, Russell C. Helms (Celeste), Timothy F. Helms and Robby L. Helms (Caryn). 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairfield Community Baptist Church, 3129 NC-205, Marshville, NC  28103.
