Peachland - Mr. Curtis Austin, 83, died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the White Oak Nursing Home in Waxhaw. Born September 11, 1931 in Union County, he was a son of the late Lindsey and Ludy Traywick Austin. He also preceded in death by his 1st wife, Wanda Lawhun Austin, daughter, Dyanna Austin Irvine, brothers, Lee, Paul and Carl Austin, sisters, Odell Nance and Wilma Carpenter.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Curtis will be held 12 noon Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Central Union Church of Christ, 3115 Old Charlotte Hwy., Monroe, NC 28111. The family will receive friends from 11-12 on Saturday at the church. Burial will be private.

Mr. Austin is survived by his wife, Mitzi Teeter Austin of the home; son, Curtis Austin, Jr. and his wife Deana; step son, Franky Smith and his wife Cheryl; daughter, Donna Austin Edwards and her husband Dana; stepdaughters, Pam Randall and Kim Strawn and her husband Art; sisters, Patsy Griffin, Kate Faulkner and Lois Brewer; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
