Mr. David Keith Griffin, 77, of Marshville, North Carolina, passed away on July 25, 2026. Born on September 17, 1948, in Union County, North Carolina, David was the son of the late Clayton Vernon Griffin and Ramona Efird Griffin. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Griffin.
David proudly served his country in the United States Navy before building a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. He was the owner of David’s Nursery, where he dedicated many years serving his community with integrity and care.
David was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Betty Starnes Griffin. Together they built a loving family that includes their sons, Jason Griffin and his wife, Sandy, and Brian Griffin and his wife, Amber. He found great joy in being a grandfather to his cherished granddaughter, Ailey Griffin.
A faithful member of East Campus in Marshville, David’s life reflected the values of his Christian faith. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time working on puzzles and taking in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Parkway, a place that brought him peace and happiness.
David will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his service to his country, and the quiet kindness he showed to those around him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service celebrating David’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at East Campus in Marshville, North Carolina. Visitation with the family will immediately follow the service. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tillery Compassionate Care of Albemarle, North Carolina, in appreciation for the compassionate care they provided.
Though he will be deeply missed, David’s family finds comfort in the many memories they shared and in the lasting legacy of faith, love, and service that he leaves behind.
