Fort Mill, SC – Mrs. Derlene Baker Murphy, 75, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 at her home.  Born June 21, 1947 in Anson County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Marion Thomas Baker and Eva Allen Baker. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Marion Baker, Nezzie Stroud, Kay Threadgill.

Derlene was a faithful member of Glenrock Baptist Church.  She loved music and sang in the church choir.  She retired from Lance after 24 years of service.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Derlene will be 2 PM, Thursday, December 8, 2022 from the Glenrock Baptist Church, 1815 Dobys Bridge Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1- 1:45 in the church's fellowship building. Burial will be 11 am Friday in Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Those left to cherish her memory included her husband of 36 years, David; sisters, Jessie Harrington (Cary) and Eva West; brothers, Thomas Baker and Lanny Baker; all of her nieces and nephews from both the Baker and Murphy families; and her church family.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Mineral Springs cemetery fund, 4226 Mills Road, Polkton, NC  28135.
