Mr. Don Everette Taylor, 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 21, 2021.  Don was born in Union County on September 12, 1935 to the late Edward Eugene Taylor and Cora Preslar Taylor.  He was also preceded by a sister, Betty Riggins Davis and brothers Carrol E. Taylor and Arthur Taylor.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Collins Taylor; sons, Jeffrey of Monroe and Richard (Jenny) of Monroe; daughter, Krista Taylor Stanley of Waxhaw; grandchildren, James Taylor, Lydia Taylor Medlin, Dex Stanley, Zach Stanley and Jake Taylor; great grandchildren, Justin Taylor, Chaye Taylor, Aby Bowling, Emily Bowling, Cora Medlin and Kena Medlin; sisters, Doris Wells of Charlotte and Esther Medlin of Monroe

A funeral service to celebrate Don's life will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 10-10:45 in the church.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church building fund, 5709 Philadelphia Church Road, Marshville, NC  28103.

Face coverings are optional during the services.
