Mr. Donald Graham High, 84, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the Hospice House in Monroe.  Born August 19, 1937 in Anson County, he was a son of the late James Graham High and Emma Thomas High.  He was a 1955 graduate of Polkton High School.  He worked at Thurston Motor Lines, as a truck driver, in Charlotte for 29 years.  After retirement, Donald and Frances moved to Oak Island, NC where he enjoyed the beach life and his 2 grandchildren.  However, after 25 years, he was ready to get back to Anson County with a big yard to work in and ride around on his tractor.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Donald will be 11 AM, Friday in the chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 AM – 10:45 at the funeral home.  Burial will be private at a later date.

Mr. High is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Frances Thompson High; daughter, Donna Potter (Michael) of Haymarket, VA; grandchildren, Kendall Potter of Greenville, SC and Jacob Potter of Haymarket, VA; sisters, Louise High McSwain (Franklin) of Mint Hill, NC and Patsy High Tarlton of Greenville, NC; 6 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice House of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110 or Union Grove Baptist Church, 2424 Old Lawyers Road, Marshville, NC  28103
