Marshville- Mrs. Doris C. Stockton, 92, passed away on October the 23rd, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Elroy, Wisconsin on April the 20th, 1926 to the late Vernon and Naida Crouch. She was preceded in death by her two husbands: Mr. A.D. Howard father of Dawn and Carmen and Mr. James M. Stockton, Sr., father of James and Karen.
Funeral Services will be 11am Saturday the 27th of October, 2018 at Austin Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Fairfield Community Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends in the Austin Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Hall one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
She is survived by her four children:  Mrs. Dawn Barmer and her husband Robert of Halifax, Mr. James M. Stockton, Jr. and his wife Sandy of Connelly Springs, Mrs. Karen Wheatley and her husband Britt of Climax, and Mrs. Carmen Griffin and her husband Rickey of Marshville. Grandchildren: Stacie M. Chichester and her husband Gilbert of Halifax, Johnny Darnell of Charlotte, Jamie Darnell and his wife Shannon of Julian, Lindsay Barmer of Halifax, Melissa Martin and her husband Chris of Lenoir, Michelle Stockton of Connelly Springs, Jeremy Stockton and his wife Aimee of Hickory, Shannon Phillips and her husband Troy of Liberty, Rikki Tillman and her husband Mark of Marshville, and Chris Griffin also of Marshville. Nine great-grandchildren also survive Mrs. Stockton. Two sisters also survive Doris, Mrs. Lonnie New of Michigan and Mrs. Letitia Thornton of Wisconsin.
