Marshville - Mr. Edward Lee Traywick, 87, of Marshville, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at his home. Born July 3, 1930 in Union County, he was a son of the late Jesse Bascom Traywick and Vena Lee Baucom. He was also preceded in death by his only sister, Christine Bivens. He loved to bird hunt and fish and tending to his cows. His friends and family knew him well for his joking quick-wit personality. To know him was to love him. His grandchildren and great-granddaughter were his pride and joy.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Ed will be 11 am Saturday in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service by the grave. Ed can be viewed on Friday from 2-4 PM at the funeral home and Saturday from 9am until service time at Union Grove Baptist Church Sanctuary.
Mr. Traywick is survived by his wife Sue of 62 years; daughters, Cindy Traywick and her fiancée Jerry Austin of Matthews, Jeanie Traywick Matthews of Marshville and Melanie Traywick and her fiancée Dan Nettleton of Oakboro; grandchildren, Cole Edward Matthews and girlfriend Sarah Bradley and Jenna Matthews and her fiancée Ryan Kloepping; great-grandchild, Kyndall Kloepping.
The family would like to express their thankfulness and appreciation to Teresa Dennis for her loving care during his illness.
