Marshville- Edwin S. Smith, beloved husband of Venta "Wiki" Smith, who died November 7, 2012, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 in their home in Chesapeake, Virginia. Ed was the son of Fred O. and Pauline S. Smith of the Fairfield community. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his infant son, Little Stewart; his adult son, Alan; his adult grandson, Danny. Siblings Fred Jr., Keith, Henry, Letcher, Douglas, and Mary all predeceased him.

Funeral Services will be 11am Wednesday the 5th of August, 2015 in the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ed and Wiki were married for 66 years at the time of her passing. He is survived by daughter Glenda and her husband Douglas Tyler, their children, Ed's grandchildren, M'Lynn and Joey, of Chesapeake, VA; daughter Edwina (Danny's mother) and husband Ricky Carnes of Winnabow, NC; son Phillip and wife Tammy Smith of Long Beach, NC, his daughter, Ed's granddaughter, Adria and husband Nelson Tetreault of Monroe, NC; son Alan's widow Kathy Smith Aldridge (Mike) of Monroe, their daughter Shelley and husband Jeff Bartlett, and their children, Ed's great grandchildren, Mallory and Brady Alan of Roanoke, VA; and their son Stuart and wife Andrea Smith, and their son, Ed's great grandson, Harrison James of Charlotte. His brother, Bill Smith also survives him.

Our beloved Daddy, Grandpa, Great Grandpa Ed will be remembered with eternal love and affection until "The Sweet By and By". He is at peace with loved ones, in the arms of God.
