Myrtle Beach - Mrs. Elaine Thornsbury, 79, formerly of Marshville, passed away Sunday June 13, 2021 at the Conway Medical Center in Conway, SC.  Born in August 2, 1941 in Catoosa County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late JD and Louise Crowe.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Vernon, a step daughter, Linda Scott and a son, James Sims.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Elaine will be held 11 AM Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Austin Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 – 10:45 in the church fellowship building.  If anyone would like to pay respects and maintain social distance you can come by the funeral home on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 1-3 pm.

Elaine is survived by sons, Lewis Sims (Ginger) of Marshville, Brian Sims (Tammy) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Randy Sims (Tammy)of Peachland and Robert Sims (Angela) of Rock Hill, SC; 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; stepson, Gene Thornsbury of GA; stepdaughters, Sherry McCain of Matthews and Teresa Thomas of Peachland;
