Dateline - Peachland Mrs. Elean Gaddy High, 85, died Friday, May 30, 2014 at her home. Born August 14, 1928 in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Emma Staton Gaddy. She was also preceded in death by her husband Edsel C. High and siblings, James A. Gaddy, Buddy Gaddy, Jessie Teeter, Frances Galloway, Shirley Griffin, Euna Sanders and Thelma Deese. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Elean will be held Monday at 2 PM from the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home with burial following in the Deep Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. High is survived by a son, Johnie E. High of Peachland; daughters, Kathryn H. Rogers, Betty H. Hasty and Mary H. Randall all of Peachland; sisters, Evelyn Reynolds of Mint Hill, Helen Ingram of Charlotte and Doris Phillips of Florida; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110. The Morgan & Son Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. High.
