Mrs. Elizabeth Tucker Smith, 99, of Peachland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, November 17, 2025, at her home. Born May 1, 1926, in Anson County, she was the daughter of the late John Calvin Tucker and Stella Atkinson Tucker. She was also preceded in death by her husband Curtis in 2015 a brother, George Edwin Tucker, a baby sister and a son-in-law, Roy Fred Byrd.

She was retired from Stanly Knitting Mill for many years. Prior to working in the mill, she helped run John Tucker Store. She was active in her church in many different positions over the years.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Elizabeth will be held 2 PM, Thursday at New Home Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1- 1:45 pm in the church.

Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Randy Smith (Traci); daughter, Donna Byrd; grandchildren, Doug Smith (Brooke) and Devin Smith, Beverly Bowles (Bryan) and Crystal Szvetitz (Thomas); great grandchildren, Daniel and Conner Bowles, Ashlyn, Trenton and Brianna Szvetitz; brother, Larry Tucker (Janet) and sister, Betty Little.

The family would like to thank Gentiva nurses and aids and especially Chaplain Shelley Dial for their loving care during mom's sickness. Also a special thanks to Daphne Lindsey from Home Instead for her special care.
