Mrs. Jennie Elizabeth Meggs Tarleton 85, passed away May 24, 2023 at Atrium Health – Cabarrus,  Born November 16, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Sandy Meggs and Jennie Belle Edwards Meggs.  She was also preceded in death by her husband James Titus Tarleton, Jr., sons, Jerry, Terry and Greg Tarleton, granddaughter, Rebecca Tarleton, grandson, Chadwyck Mauldin and siblings, Thomas Richard Meggs, Joseph Henry Meggs, Mary Bessie Turner, and Julia Lillie Sheppard.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mama Liz will be 3 PM Sunday, May 28, 2023 from the chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Mike Tarleton and Joe Tarleton; daughters, Pamela T. Mauldin (Rodney) and Sandy T. Tennant; grandchildren, Andrea Leigh, Jeremy Tarleton (Maria), Jennifer Rodriguez (Matias), Justin Tarleton (Crystal), Emily Whitley (Matt), Sarah McCarn, (Evan), Jessica Thomas, Ashley Tarleton and Jacob Griffin; 14 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close relatives.
