Monroe - Mrs. Edna "Frances" Purser Nance Gordon, 89, passed away May 28, 2022 at Novant Medical Center in Charlotte. Born January 25, 1933 in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Troy Lee Purser, Sr and Marie Smith Purser. She was also preceded in death by her 1 st husband Benton Nance, brother John Purser and grandson Andy Coppedge. She loved cooking, gardening, flowers, quilting, crocheting, bird watching and spending time with her family.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Frances will be 2 PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Fairfield Community Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Hamilton Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 – 1:45 in the church's fellowship building.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by her husband, James Gordon; daughters, Kay Coppedge (Tommy); Diane Parker (Steve), Teresa Davis and Tracy Coppedge (Mike); step daughters, Gail Smith (Glenn), Teresa Gordon and Susan Thomas; grandchildren Chad Coppedge (Michelle), Stephanie Pope (Donald), Casey Parker (Heather), Jake Davis (Celena) and Katie Coppedge; great grandchildren, Cody and Clayton Pope, Emma, Walker and Max Coppedge, Aubrey and Ava Parker and Harper Davis; brother, Troy Lee Purser, Jr. (Joyce); honorary great grandchild, Phoenix Morse, numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Fairfield Community Baptist Church, 3129 Hwy 205, Marshville, NC 28103.
