Marshville – Mr. Fred Treadaway, 86, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at Atrium Health - Union.  Born September 27, 1939, in Anson County, he was the son of the late Julian Treadaway and Eurena Brandenburg Treadaway. He was also preceded in death by his spouse of 63 years, Inez Treadaway and a sister, Peggy Lim.

He served in the Army and after his service he went to work for the post office.  He worked his way up to being the Post Master in Monroe and retired after 30 years of service. He loved playing golf and watching sports.  He had a favorite childhood dog named Champ.  He was a hugh foodie and loved to cook for others. He loved being in his vegetable garden and his specialty was delicious tomatoes.  He enjoyed sitting on he and Inez's screened porch talking and spending time together.

A private graveside will be in the Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.

Those left to cherish his memory include sons, Johnny Treadaway (Christina) and Freddy Treadaway, Jr. (Sheila); daughter, Teresa Jones; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sylvia Farrar.
