Gail
Litton
Oct 16, 1947 — Dec 1, 2025
Mrs. Evelyn "Gail" Neal Litton, 78, of Marshville, NC passed away at home, surrounded by family, on December 01, 2025. She was born in Oak Ridge, TN to the late William H. Neal and Kathryn Brimer Neal. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas Litton. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Thomas (Greg), her granddaughter, Peyton Thomas (Justin), her sister, Becky McCoy (Ed) of Chattanooga, TN, her niece, Beth McCoy, and her nephews, Eddie McCoy (Annette) and Michael McCoy, as well as many beloved friends she considered family.
She graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Oak Ridge, TN in 1966. She was a talented artist who spent countless hours painting and drawing. She was an active member of East Campus FBCIT in Marshville. Her faith was central to who she was, and her church family meant the world to her, particularly the sweet ladies in her life group class. Throughout her life, she was a loving and diligent caregiver for those around her, particularly her mother, for many years. Additionally, she was an enthusiastic attendee of the Next Door Clubhouse of the Union County Council on Aging, where she made many friends and both loved others and received love.
To know Gail was to love her. Never meeting a stranger, Gail's gentle but vivacious spirit was evident to all who interacted with her. Gail saw people for who they were and her home was always open to anyone who needed a cold soda, a good meal, or a listening ear. Time spent with Gail always resulted in a shared smile or laugh. She spent many an afternoon cloud-gazing, filling up her numerous bird feeders, figuring out a sudoku page, and working in her flower beds. She loved spending time in the mountains and had a special place in her heart for Cade's Cove, TN, where she and Doug rode bikes together. Gail leaves behind a legacy of selfless love, steadfast faith, and unwavering compassion that will be greatly missed by all who love her.
The family will host a celebration of life at East Campus FBCIT in Marshville on December 05, 2025, at 2 PM with visitation to follow. All floral tributes should be directed to the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Union County Council on Aging Next Door Clubhouse.
