Mr. Gene Deese 77, passed away on Sunday the 2nd of June, 2019 at Atrium Health Union. He was born in Union County to the late Curtis and Lottie Mae Curlee Deese. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Clinton Deese, his step-son Mr. Ronald Huey Jordan, and one step-grandson Mr. Ronald Huey Jordan, Jr. He was a retired truck driver and he loved to fish. He was also a Master Mason and a member of Matthews Masonic Lodge #461 AF&AM.
Memorial Services will be 11am Wednesday the 5th of June, 2019 at Austin Grove Baptist Church. The family will greet friends following the service.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mary N. Deese of Marshville. His son Mr. Jimmy Deese and his wife Teresa of Marshville. His daughter Mrs. Sherry D. Medlin and her husband Tommy of Monroe. Step-daughter Mrs. Darlene J. Medlin and her husband Mitchell of Unionville and his step-son Mr. Larry C. Jordan, Jr., and his wife Michelle of Marshville. 14 Grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren also survive him. His siblings: Mrs. Frances Kohler of Chicago and Mr. Gary Vann Deese and his wife Ellen of Mooresville. One sister in law Mrs. Lorraine Deese also of Mooresville.
