Peachland – Mr. George Faulkner Harrington, 94, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Autumn Care Nursing Home in Marshville.  Born January 4, 1930, in Anson County, NC, he was a son of the late Thomas Clyde Harrington and Mattie Elizabeth Faulkner Harrington.  He was also preceded in death by siblings, Eloise Watts, Joann Huntley, Larry Harrington, and Lamar Harrington.

George was a graduate of Peachland High School, Wingate College and NC State University where he earned a BA in Agriculture.  He had a long career in sales with Diamond International Corporation before becoming a poultry farmer. He enjoyed the stock market and going to listen to Tuesday night Gospel and country music at Hargett Store and to Bojangles to visit with friends.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of George will be 2 PM Monday, May 20, 2024, from the graveside of Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship building.

Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Bruce Harrington; daughters, Leslie Harrington (Ray Betts) and Amy Cooper (Galen), grandchildren, Emma, and Julian Betts; siblings, Cary Harrington (Jessie), Betsy Ammons (Billy) and Karen Jones; many nieces and nephews.
