Denver, NC - Mr. Bennie Gerald Johnson, 82, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at Novant Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.  Born March 7, 1938 in Anson County, he was a son of the late Boyce and Maude B. Johnson.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Gerald will be 11 AM Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Westport Baptist Church, 2372 Lake Shore Road – South, Denver, NC 28037.  The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 in the church's sanctuary.  Graveside services will be 2 PM Saturday at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery in Peachland, NC.  Please exercise social distancing while at the services.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Carolyn Johnson of the home; daughter, Rhonda Stegman (Douglas); son, Todd Johnson (Marie); brother, Kenneth Johnson (Patsy); grandchildren, Natalie Thamann (Ben), Lacey Meyrose (Eric), Katie Moellinger (Scott), Sarah Stegman, Annalise Stegman, Bridgette Stegman, Savana Johnson, Ali Johnson and Zack Johnson; 4 great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials made to the Westport Baptist Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, via website.
