Mrs. Gladys B. Butler 64, passed away Monday the 26 ^th of December, 2016 at Hospice Haven of Richmond County.  She was born in Montgomery County, NC on January the 4 ^th , 1952.  She was a life-long educator, having served at New Salem Elementary and recently retired from West Rockingham Elementary.  She was preceded in death by her father Mr. James Parker Bowman of Norman, NC.

Funeral Services will be 11am Thursday at New Hope Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will greet friends in the Fellowship Hall following the service.

She is survived by her husband Rev. Tommy Butler and her son Samuel Butler both of Rockingham.  She is also survived by her mother Mrs. Maie Reynolds Bowman of Norman, NC.  Her brother Mike Bowman and his wife Teresa of Rockingham and her sister Ms. Darlene Bowman of Ellerbe, NC.
