Mrs. Grace Porter Jerome, 103, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the Hospice House in Monroe.  Born January 8, 1922, in Darlington County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Thomas Porter and Maggie Madora Miller Porter.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Rufus, children, Patricia Ritt, Judy Jerome, Johnny Jerome and Jerry Jerome, grandsons, Jonathan Wellons and Randy Ritt, great granddaughter, Jennifer Miles Cook, sons-in-law, Bruce Airington and Glenn Davis and David Wellons, Sr.

Grace was loved as a Mother, Meme, Grandma, Aunt and friend.  She was a great servant of the Lord and prayer warrior.  She was an inspiration to everyone she met.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Grace will be 1 PM, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Union Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the interment by the grave.

Those left to cherish her memory include daughters, Jean Davis, Mildred Wellons and Brenda Airington; A legacy of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and great great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
