Mrs. Patsy Grovene Helms, 93, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Atrium Hospice House in Monroe.  Born May 22, 1932, in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Graham and Audrey James Hill. She was also preceded in death by her husband Coy B. Helms and a sister, Autelaine Tarlton.

A memorial service to celebrate the life Grovene will be 1 PM, Monday, February 16, 2026, at Fairfield Community Baptist Church with visitation to follow in the church fellowship building.

Those left to cherish Grovene's memory include children, Russell C. Helms (Celeste), Timothy F. Helms and Robby L. Helms (Caryn); 5 grandchildren, Chelsea H. Christenson (Tim), Lucas S. Helms (Ammelia), Chet W. Helms (Sarah), Taylor C. Buie (James) and Danny C. Helms; and 7 great grandchildren; sister, Cheryl H. Braswell (Roger).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairfield Community Baptist Church, 3129 NC-205, Marshville, NC  28103.
