Mr. Harold Mills Edwards, 85, passed away on January the 6th, 2016 at the Harris Hospice Unit in Charlotte. He was born in Anson County on November the 20th, 1930 to the late William H. and Bertha Baucom Edwards.
The Memorial Service with full Masonic Rites will be 11 am Saturday the 9th of January, 2016 under the Gazebo of Marshville City Cemetery.
Harold graduated from Wake Forest University with both a Bachelor of Science as well as Juris Doctor. His law career led him to Judgeships as the Judge pro tempore of Mecklenburg Criminal Court as well as the Charlotte Municipal Criminal Court. He went on to serve as Counsel for Senator Morgan. He then went on to be a United States Attorney of the Western District of N.C. where he received the Outstanding Service Award. Harold was a member of the National Association of Former U.S. Attorney's and the N.C. State Bar. His Fraternal memberships, in addition to being a 32nd Degree Mason included being a life Member of Oasis Shrine of which he was a former Parliamentarian. Mr. Edwards was also recognized by Marquis Who's Who in America as well as the Who's Who in the World.
Harold is survived by two daughters: Ginger Mandujano of Concord and Teresa Filan of Sturgis, Michigan. Two sisters: Marjorie Plyler of Charlotte and Annette Clark of Asheville. Grandchildren: Jackelyn Michelle Raiola, Joel Steven Filan, and Carrie Virginia Hamby. Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his siblings: William H. Edwards and Allie George Creech, and one grandchild Joshua Stephen Filan.
