Mr. Herman "Sonny" Kirby Horne, 79, died Friday, February 5, 2016 at CMC- Pineville. Born October 9, 1936, he was a son of the late Herman Glenn Horne and Agnes Threadgilll Horne. His favorite pass time was the Charlotte Senior Softball League, having played 28 years winning an All -American 2nd team trophy. He also played semi pro softball in Japan while in service. He also loved to bird hunt and watch his dogs run.
Funeral service will be held 2PM Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Peachland Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 Sunday in the church's fellowship building.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Alice Griffin Horne of the home; step daughter, Suzie Branch of Charlotte, NC; brother, Don Horne of Monroe, 2 nephews and 1 niece, and 4 great nephews; 2 step-grandchildren, Tiffany Traywick and Griffin Branch.
Memorials may be made to Peachland Baptist Church, PO Box 146, Peachland NC 28103
