Obituary

Marshville – Mr. Jacob "Jake" Ray Hernandez, 36, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025, at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.  Born October 20, 1988, in Jefferson County, TX, he was the son of Randall Ray Hernandez and Tracie Stanley Hernandez.  He was also preceded in death by a grandmother, Eleanor Hernandez and an uncle, Robby Hernandez.

He was a man whose life was centered around faith, family, and service. For 14 beautiful years, he shared life and love with his wife, Amanda Hernandez. Together they built a home filled with laughter, devotion, and three incredible children, Kensley, Embree, and Jaxon, who were his whole world.

Jake was more than a husband; he was Amanda's best friend and constant source of strength. He was the kind of dad who showed up for every moment, big or small. He loved playing softball in the yard with Kensley, playing dress-up and video games with Embree, and watching football and sharing pumpkin cakes with Jaxon each night before bed.

He also cherished the simple comforts that reminded him of home, such as hunting alongside his dad and daughter Kensley and never turning down his mom's homemade salsa, one of his absolute favorites. Those were the things that grounded him: family, faith, and the quiet moments that made life meaningful.

He was a provider in more ways than one, not just through his hard work but through his love, leadership, and loyalty. Jake served his country with great honor and lived his life with purpose, integrity, and courage. He led his family by example, serving God, his wife, his children, and his country with unwavering dedication.

To know Jake was to know a man who loved deeply, gave freely, and lived wholeheartedly. His legacy will live on through Amanda, Kensley, Embree, and Jaxon in every story told, every laugh shared, and every moment they carry his love forward.

"The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him."

-Proverbs 20:7
