Dateline - Marshville Mr. James William "Jimmy" McKenzie, 84 died Monday June the 9th, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Mecklenburg County on April 8, 1930 to the late George Edward and Jewel Vaughn McKenzie. Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was also a retired owner of James W. McKenzie Painting Company. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Tommy McKenzie and sister, Elsie Edwards Funeral Services will be 11am Thursday at Hamilton Crossroads Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 Wednesday at Morgan & Son Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife Martha L. McKenzie of the home. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Roddy McKenzie and one daughter Daphne Tadlock both of Marshville. Three grandchildren: Walker Tadlock, Braden Tadlock and Tate Tadlock. He is also survived by his siblings: Mr. Kevin McKenzie of Wadesboro and Mrs. Ann Frank of Hickory. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hamilton Crossroads Baptist Church, Hospice of Union County or The Colony, 136 Samaritan Dive, Rockingham, NC 28379.
