Wingate – Mr. James Morton, 90, passed away Sunday February 26, 2023 at his home.  Born March 28, 1932 in Charlotte County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Robert Lee Morton and Gladys Myrtle Arrington Morton. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Earl, Martin, Reginald, Leonard Morton, sisters, Francis Marston and Betty Morton.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be 11AM, Friday, March 3, 2023 from the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home burial will follow in the Marshville City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4-6 pm at the funeral home.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 33 years, Katherine Bea Treadway Morton; daughter, Nancy Mooers (Gary); grandson, Robert Pollard; great granddaughter, Miranda Pollard; step great-granddaughter, Kylee Hise; step daughter, Pamela Mayberry; step grandchildren, April Tramell and Cameron Tramell; step great grandchildren, Lilia Frutiger (Jesse), Andy Coles, Christopher Berger (Tramell).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials made to St. Judes Children's Hospital via their website.
