Obituary

Mr. JC Tarlton, 88, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Hospice House in Monroe. Born August 10, 1933, he was a son of Kemp W. Tarlton and Louise Hayes Tarlton. He was also preceded in death by siblings and spouses, Bill Tarlton (Inez), Haskell Tarlton (Annette) and Myrtle Carpenter (Bob).

After his service in the US Army, JC met Mary and knew right away she was "the one"  Their 66 years together were full of love and laughter and their love for God helped them weather any storms.  They were the perfect match.  JC was a caring father to his four children with plenty of love and discipline to go around.  That love was also extended to his children's spouses and passed along to his grandchildren and their spouses and his great grandchildren, who all affectionately called him "Poppy."  He made great memories with them and loved each one dearly.

JC enjoyed being outdoors as much as possible and listening to gospel music.   Singing bass in the Crossroads Quartet for many years, brought him much joy, as well as everyone listening.

JC Tarlton "Poppy", will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of JC will be 2 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from the chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Hamilton Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 at the funeral home.
