Mrs. Janice Little James passed away January 21, 2024, at Atrium Health-Union.

Born October 6, 1932, in Union County, North Carolina to the late Glenn and Chloe Gaddy Little. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl James in 2022, and her siblings, Mable Little Ponds and Lucille Little Broome.

She devoted her life to being a full-time homemaker, wife, and mother. She loved to garden and cook, and she loved playing Dominoes and getting together with her friends; she often spent hours on the phone with them each day. Her peanut brittle and sweet potato pies were legendary. She always wanted to feed anyone who stopped by to visit.

She was a long-time member of Austin Grove Baptist Church, and the oldest female member at the time of her death, serving in many different capacities throughout the years. She loved her church family so much.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Janice will be 2:30 Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Austin Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:15 PM in the church sanctuary.

Those left to cherish her memory include children, Rhonda Long (Roger), Roger James (Cindy), Ken James, Jodi Epps (Barry); grandchildren, Maleah Batchelor (Robert), Jamie Long (Heather), Stuart James (Aleque), Austin James (Kristen), Abbie James, Madison Line (Shawn), Derrick Epps (Rebeka), Jordan Epps, Spencer James; great grandchildren, Cade Batchelor (Mackenzi), Chase Batchelor, Jalen Long (fiancé Olivia Culp), Jaron Long, Makenna Batchelor, Logan James, Makenly Batchelor, Bryson James, Emmett James, Nora James, Annie Epps; great-great grandchild, Lucy Batchelor; and a sister, Rita Crawford (Fritz).
