Marshville – Mr. Joe Benjamin "JB" Ashcraft, 93, passed away Saturday at Hospice House in Monroe.  Born January 1, 1928 in Union County, he was a son of the late George Benjamin Ashcraft and Eva Rollins Ashcraft.  He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah and his sister, Mrs. Margie Barbee.  JB loved camping and doing fun projects with his family.  He was retired from Liberty Life Insurance Company.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of JB will be 2 PM on Tuesday, at Gilboa Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 1 – 1:45 in the church fellowship building.

Mr. Ashcraft is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mrs. Margaret Smith Ashcraft of the home; three sons, Mr. Ronnie Ashcraft and his wife Deirdre of Lugoff, SC., Mr. Randy Ashcraft and his wife Leslie of Marshville and Mr. Kent Ashcraft and his wife Beverly of Monroe; grandchildren: Jordan, Joseph, Nathan, Matthew Ashcraft and Nicole Bellor; great-grandchildren, Connor and Miles Ashcraft.

The family suggests memorials be made to Gilboa United Methodist Church, 5515 Gilboa Road, Marshville, NC  28103.
