Mrs. Jennie Nelson Ward, 80, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Atrium Health in Monroe. Born March 7, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Blanche Tedder Nelson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Burchell Ward and a grandson, Dustin Manus.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be 11 AM, Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the Austin Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be private.

Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter; Kimberly Ward Gill (Jody); son, Scott Burchell Ward; granddaughter, Brandi Manus; Dustin's fiancée' at his death, Elizabeth Daley; great grandsons, Trenton Manus, Rylan Manus, Thomas Manus and Lochlan Acker.

Memorials can be made to the Austin Grove Baptist Church, 5919 Austin Grove Church Road, Marshville, NC or to Ground 40, 303 Dale Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
