Mr. Jerry Douglas Courtney, 79, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Novant Health – Matthews Medical Center. Born September 8, 1939 in Union County, he was a son of the late Johnny and Rosa Lee Newman Courtney. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Charles and Bill Courtney.
Funeral services will be private.
Mr. Courtney is survived by companion, Ruby Jones; children, Wayne Courtney and wife Vicky of Matthews and Kim Medlin and husband Doug of Monroe; stepson, Tony Jones; grandchildren, Michael Courtney and wife Paige and Kaylee Medlin; great grandchild, McCoy Lelan Courtney. Brother, Paul Courtney of TN; sisters, Kathrine Knight of Monroe, Nona Rorie of Marshville and Loretta Wilson of Burlington.
