Marshville – Jerry Edwards, 77, passed away peacefully Monday, October 10, 2022 at Atrium Health – Pineville surrounded by his loving family. Born August 27, 1945, in Union County, he was a son of the late Wriston and Wilma Griffin Edwards.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Pete Edwards, sister, Doris McWhorter.

Jerry entered the propane business at age 17 working for Thomas Gas Company, Edwards Propane and then in 2004 helped establish Marshville Propane. In his free-time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to cow sales, and coaching the Rotary little league baseball team. Jerry never met a stranger anywhere he went and was always willing to help anyone in need. Most of all, he loved spending time with all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  They were his pride and joy.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Jerry will be 11AM on Friday, October 14, 2022 from the chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Marshville City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years Gail Thomas Edwards; daughter, Jodi Edwards Doolittle (Chuck); sons, Tommy Edwards (Aprill), David Edwards (Jessica) and Jimmy Edwards (Sarah); brothers, Max Edwards and Vann Edwards (Kathryn); sister, Virgie Baucom, Ruby Baucom (Rommie) and Judy Thomas; grandchildren, Brandon Eudy, Caleb Edwards, Emma Edwards, Shelby Doolittle Boswell (Zach), Wyatt Doolittle, Clara Edwards, Henry Edwards and Nathan Edwards; great grandchildren, Weston and Hadleigh Boswell, sister-in-law, Lib Edwards.
